John Nicol President Werribee Football Club

“I am in my sixth (6) year as President of the Werribee Football Club. I have been on the Board for more than ten (10) years having been awarded Life Membership in 2001.

Some years ago I was the City Engineer for the then City of Werribee so in that role for twenty (20) years I was closely connected to the Werribee Football Club both professionally and as a keen supporter. I have a passion for the Werribee Football Club which has been very successful over time but given we have only one Premiership (1993) in the Club’s history we need another.

My wife Pauline and I live in Werribee and have done so for nearly forty (40) years so we have seen considerable growth in our Community and our Football Club.”

Jim Hudson Vice President

2009 is my third year on the on the committee of the WFC. I was born in Werribee and lived about 50 metres from the ground. I am married to Christine, we have 5 children-3 boys and 2 girls. Christopher plays for the club (number 10) as I did and his Uncle Bill and cousin Ben. We have had a family business in Werribee since 1948 and Christine and I now operate 4 dry cleaning stores, 2 in Werribee. We are true blood Werribee supporters.

I played in Under 19's in Werribee's first year in VFA in 1965 and progressed to seniors the next year. I left to play at Clarence in 1971 and returned to play under Bruce Burgoyne in 1977.
I joined the Board under Bruce Montgomery in 1991. At Bruces "request" became runner for Leon Harris, then a number of years as Chairman of Selectors under Donald McDonald, and finally Alistair Clarkson. I retired from Board when I became GM of Patrick Automotive, and returned at the behest of GregWelsh in 2003 as Finance Director. " Banga" is a Club Legend and is the games record holder. It just woiuld not be Werribee without him.

Roland Brohaska Board Member

2011 will be my sixth year on the Werribee Football Club Board. While not a football person, I have supported the Tigers for many years as a resident and the father of two sons who played all their junior sport locally. My role this year has now expanded to the executive while continuing to assist and oversee capital improvements within the Avalon Airport Oval Chirnside Park Precinct.We very much look forward to an improved and exciting year under the leadership of our full time coach Paul Satterley and his team. The indicators are extremely positive on and off the field and the efforts of our aligned Kangaroos Football Club this year has been fantastic.I continue to wear the Werribee colours proudly as we push for another finals appearance in 2011

Mark Penaluna Chief Executive Officer

Since a very early age football has figured significantly within my life.I played football with Port Colts 1971 - 1982; Port Melbourne 1983 - 1985, returned to Port Colts in 1986 - 1996 and was honored with a Life Membership in 1994.

In 1992 I was elected Voluntary Administrator at that club and held the position until 1998, when I was appointed General Manager of the Western Region Football League ( ex: Footscray District Football League )

As Chief Executive Officer since October 2003 of the Werribee Football Club, I am pleased that we have been tasted success in various manners including - eradicating a significant debt, introducing a full time Junior / Community Development Officer; Media Manager; Full Time Senior Coach, and undertaken over 1.4 million of Capital Works improvements . Unfortunately the ultimate success in achieving a Senior Premiership has alluded us, coming close in 2005 (2nd) and 2008 (3rd)

I am extremely confident that as a collective group, this club, understands the importance of hard work, community involvement, professionalism, embracing our history and willingness to enjoy each other’s company and that success on the field will be our reward. Mark lives in Hoppers Crossing and is married to Narelle, they have two teenage children Amy and Kyle.

Stuart Balloch- Football Operations Manager

As a footballer Stuart has played in the VAFA competition for the past 8 years winning two premierships with Old Westbourne and one with Old Essendon in the U19’s. As a junior played with the Western Jets in the TAC Cup competition which briefly earned him a spot on the Werribee Preseason training list in 2004. Academically Stuart graduated from Westbourne Grammar in 2000, from there he attended VU from 2001-3 earning a Bachelor of Arts in Recreation Management and only recently in 2008 completed a Cert IV in TAA. Stuart has a vast work experience having worked as a Duty Manager at Belgravia Leisure, at @leisure a Sport and Recreation Consultancy working closely with Local Government and SSA’s and most recently with the State Sports Centres Trust where working relationships included MSAC, SNHC, AFLPA, SMA and VICSport. Joining the Werribee Football Club in 2008, Stuart has been working closely with Mark Penaluna CEO to ensure the effective and efficient management of the operation and management of the Club.

Kevin Hillier- Media Manager

Kevin is a well known Melbourne media performer in a variety of roles. His time on the airwaves of Melbourne radio at 3XY, Triple M, Fox, Gold and these days on SEN has seen him enjoy great success. He can heard on many radio and television commercials right across Australia.He has been writing for newspapers and publications for years and currently writes two weekly columns for the Star News Group and is the author of three books on football. He is also Media Consultant for the WRFL and has been an event host for the Western Bulldogs for 29 years, where he is a Life Member. Kevin hosts all Werribee events like the Auction, President's Lunches, the Ladies High Tea and Presentation Night. He runs the club website and looks after all the clubs content in the local newspapers, as well as hosting the radio show 'Tiger Talk' every Friday from 4.30pm on WYN FM. Kevin is married to Sarah Patterson and they run their own company Howdy Partners Media which is a Werribee player sponsor.

Chris Gallagher Community Development Manager

While living in Geelong, Chris played with the Bell Park FNC, before moving to Mt Buller in 2006 to undertake a Bachelor of Business (Sports and Leisure Management) at Latrobe University and continue his football career with Mansfield FNC in the GVFL. Chris played in the 2009Premiership side with Mansfield. He is currently playing under former JJ Liston Medallist and Werribee player Anthony Eames at Altona FC. Upon completion of his degree, he gained experience in the sports industry with the Australian Grand Prix Association and Willett Marketing in operational roles, before taking on the role as Werribee’s Community Development Manager in 2010. The role has expanded from a part time position to full time. Chris has been instrumental in building tremendous relationships with the Wyndham City Council, Wyndham schools, North Melbourne FC, AFL Victoria, Auskick, CALD communities and numerous community groups to establish itself as the benchmark in community development within the VFL.
