The Lang Lang Football club was established in 1900 and in it's first year of existence the club contested 'scratch matches' against other townships such as Grantville, Tooradin & Glen Alvie and this was the case for the next few years until Lang Lang started playing competition football in 1907 by being a founding member of the Lang Lang & District Football Association which comprised of Lang Lang, Kooweerup, Tooradin & Grantville. Lang Lang competed in this competition until 1914 and in this time the teams they played were Kwr, Tooradin, Grantville, Yannathan, Yallock and Cranbourne. No finals system was introduced until 1912 and before then the team that finished on top of the ladder was declared Premiers. Lang Lang were Premiers in 1909. After the disbanding of the LL&DFA the club merged briefly with Yannathan FC to be known as 'The Ramblers FC' and they joined the Korumburra & District Line Football Association in 1915 which comprised of 7 teams along the railway line from Kwr to Leongatha but this competition only lasted a year due to the on set of WW1. In 1916 the club went into recess due to WW1 but re-established in 1917 & 1918 to be known as the 'Lang Lang Benefit Football Club' and played in non competition matches against Kwr, Clyde, Yannathan and Loch where all proceeds would go to the returned soldiers fund and to keep people entertained and in good spirits in hard times. With the end of WW1 the club joined the South Gippsland Football Association. They were in this league for 3 years and competed against Kwr, Outtrim, Poowong, Leongatha, Loch & Korumburra. In 1922 they transferred to the powerful Berwick District Football Assoication and in there first year were Premeirs defeating Pakenham by a solitary point. They competed in the BDFA for another year before returning to the South Gippsland Football Association in 1924 where they remained until 1927. In 1928 the club joined the West Gippsland Football Association and were initially quite succesful competing in 4 grand finals in a row from 1928 to 1931 with a premiership in 1928 when they defeated rivals Kwr in the Grand final by 31 points. Being runners up in 1929 and 1930 the club was hell bent on winning the flag in 1931 and went through the season undefeated only to falter in the big dance and go down by 33 points. The club continued in the WGFA until 1934. In 1935 they wre founding members of the Lang Lang - Korumburra Football Association which consisted of 8 sides (Jumbunna, Nyora, Korumburra, Leongatha, Poowong, Bena & Loch). In 1936 the club was again Premiers when they defeated Leongatha by 3 points in the Grand final. In 1938 they once again made it to the big dance but fell short to Nyora. They fell down the ladder until 1941 when this league disbanded and the club went into recess due to the on set of WW2. In 1944 they rejoined the West Gippsland Football League where they would remain until 1966. During this time the senior team made the finals on 5 occasions in 1944,45,52,56 & 64 but could never crack through to a grand final appearance. The Reserves were formed in 1951 while the 3rds were formed in 1959. In 1967 the club shifted leagues to join the Bass Valley Wonthaggi Football League where they enjoyed reasonable success. The thirds were Premiers in 1971 where they defeated Korumburra & the seniors after making the finals numerous times finally broke through to a grand final in 1976 against Dalyston only to go down by 23 points. The reserves were runners up in 1979 to Phillip Island and the club continued to compete in the BVWFL until 1981. In 1982 the club rejoined the West Gippsland Football League and both the Reserves and Seniors made the grand final in 1987 against Pakenham but fell short. In 2000 the club left the WGFL and joined the Ellinbank District Football League where they have remained until present. Once again the Seniors have come close to that elusive Premeirship being runners up 3 times to Buln Buln in 2001 & 2002 and Coralynn in 2008. The Reserves enjoyed premiership glory in 2002 while the juniors took home Premierships in 2002 and 2004. A women's team was established in 2021 with the girls taking out minor premier honurs before Covid struck. In 2022 the women's side were successful in making the grandfinal only to go down to Cerberus in the big dance.
