13&Under B
The girls worked well together as a team to get the edge over a tall Rokewood team. Ballan moved the ball around the court with accurate passing & by playing in front. The girls took control in the second half, with everyone contributing. Meg Hammond & Anais Clifford both played well to earn themselves this weeks awards. Ballan 11 defeated Rokewood 3
13&Under
The girls played a strong game against a tall Rokewood team. The final score did not reflect the game! With the girls being a new side this year they are beginning to work together and play as a team we are also missing 2 girls through injury with Sian Clifford breaking her wrist in last weeks game! The defence down the court today was solid and Cate and Nat doing a great job under the ring! The attackers are working hard and improving each week. Awards this week went to Cate Lidgett and Hannah Mullane. Rokewood 17 defeated Ballan 6
15&Under
The girls started strong this week capitalising on a somewhat weaker Rokewood opponent! Megan Mullane and Tori Barbara combined well in defence and moving the ball down the court with great help from Taheisha Clifford! Aislinn A’Speculo worked tirelessly in attack turning over many defensive balls allowing the goalers to stretch out the lead. Ballan 26 defeated Rokewood 12
17&Under
The girls had their first win of the season Saturday. Even though it was a low scoring game the girls showed huge improvement bringing the ball down the court. Maddy Edginton was a big help, intercepting the ball all over the court. Laura Butler keeps improving every week in defence and proved helpful in keeping Rokewood to only 4 goals. Ballan 7 defeated Rokewood 4
C Grade
Rokewood got off to a strong start and Ballan despite working hard to get back into the game just couldn’t catch up. Rokewood 29 defeated Ballan 11
B Grade
Rokewood made Ballan work hard for their win, with players unavailable it saw some different combinations on the court. Loren Phelps worked overtime in defence earning her best on court. Ballan 28 defeated Rokewood 13.
A Grade
In what was again a physical match, Ballan needed the first few minutes to settle and find their netball feet. Eleisha Phelps accurate shooting kept the girls confidence as they gradually increased their lead each quarter, with Kara Jones feeding both shooters well. Peggy Shellard once again dominated in defence. Ballan 42 defeated Rokewood 29.

vs Learmonth
13&Under B
Ballan’s youngest netballers put on an exciting display including a 10 goal last quarter to defeat Learmonth. The girls defence was excellent all over the court and they moved the ball into attack with some great passing. Awards went to Nyree McConnell and Shelby Cox.

C Grade
Ballan recorded their first win of the season, holding strong in a closely fought out game against Learmonth.

Ballan survived a third quarter scare coming home strong in the last quarter to take the four points.
Ballan 29 defeated Learmonth 26
A Grade
Ballan took control early in the game and managed to continue to extend their lead despite a determined Learmonth team.

vs Waubra
13&Under
Ballan 11 defeated Waubra 1
15&Under
The u15 girls started strong as the faced a somewhat taller Waubra team! The girls worked well down the court and were able, through excellent teamwork, to turnover balls in defence and quickly convert them into goals! With strong leading in attack from Sam Trickey and great pressure in defence from Sharni Stone and Aislinn A’Speculo the team were able to come away with a convincing win. Ballan 22 defeated Waubra 12
17&Under
The girls always knew Waubra would be a tough side and that was proved on the day. Waubra entered the game with a stronger, faster side but the Ballan girls gave it their all. Tori Barbra came on after already playing a game in the under 15's and held strong in defence with Jordan Loughnane. Steph Micallef and Maddy Edginton combined well in the goal ring but just couldn't get the shots in. Overall a good effort against a very tough side.
Waubra 41 defeated Ballan 6
C Grade
C grade started off strong against a tough Waubra side, they were able to hold Waubra to only a small lead at quarter time. The girls were able to combine well throughout the court to play some competitive netball. Kayleigh Lord showed some versatility by taking over from the injured Rachel Hodge in defence. Ash Mackay, Megon Fenwick and Tamara Hodge held strong against a tough Waubra defence. A fantastic game by all.
Waubra 29 defeated Ballan 9
B Grade
B grade had a slow start with a few key players missing from the side. Melissa Conroy and Lauren Kermeen played tight defence against a tall Waubra attack and combed well with Maggie Spence in WD.
Waubra 43 defeated Ballan 21
A Grade
Ballan started off a little slow against Waubra and quickly became 5 goals down in the first few minutes. After a new line up in goals this year, Broden Currie and Eleisha Phelps found their feet and began to play more settled netball, being fed well by Stacey Jones and Loren Phelps. Ballan’s defence made Waubra work hard for every possession, Ashlee Bartleman and Peggy Shellard combining well and working tirelessly, well backed up by Jess Snaith in WD. In a very physical match Ballan couldn't make up the difference and went down to Waubra 26 to 31.

vs Daylesford
13&Under B
There was plenty of excitement and nerves as many of the Ballan girls played their first game of netball in Ballan colours! The girls got off to an exciting start scoring 11 goals in the first half, Ballan moved the ball with skill down the court giving the goalers plenty of opportunity. Ballan’s defensive work kept Daylesford scoreless for the match. Mars Bar Star award went to Emma-Jayne Golding and the Ballan Canteen award went to Ellie Burquest!

15&Under
The U15 began slowly but towards the end of the first quarter began to dominate play! With quick passing through the centre from Tahneisha Clifford and good movement in goals from Katelyn McGregor and Amanda Swanson the team soon began to score goals! With great defence and quick feet from Megan Mullane the team came away with a convincing win.

Daylesford 18 defeated Ballan 12
C Grade
A fantastic start to the year for C grade against Daylesford after a tough preseason. A slow start saw Daylesford on top at the first break. The team combined well through the centre court for the rest of the game with Clare Smith, Kayleigh Lord and Bec Dowling settling the team. Unfortunately Daylesford ended up on top at the end of the day.
Daylesford 28 defeated Ballan 12
B Grade
After a fantastic preseason B grade really stepped up to show Daylesford they mean business. New players Eliza Lanyon, Lauren Kermeen and Bianca Gordon blended in with the team well to prove there spot.

A Grade
Ballan’s senior netballer’s welcomed back Ashlee Bartleman to the court, the girls combining well to come away with a dominant win over Daylesford.
