The Tigers finished their final away trip of the Summerland League with a good win over a Demons side that has steadily improved all season.
Whilst Nimbin have struggled this year they rallied for their final home game of the year and the first qtr went goal for goal until the Tigers found their combinations and drew away. Coach Paul Kelly took no time in reminding the Tigers that the finals were only 2 weeks away and that more determined effort was required from the lads in the second term.
That's exactly what he got for the next 2 terms with the Tigers lifiting a gear or 2 and pulling away from the Demons to be well in front by the third term. From here the Tigers took their foot of the gass and rested several of the key players in the final term.
To Nimon's credit they lifted for their home crowd in the final term and kicked 4 goals straight, with some quality running footy nad sharp shooting from their midfield.
The Tiger's were never in doubt though and cruised to a 77 point win.
Best on ground for the Tigers was Herc with fierce detemination at the ball, Strope who for the first time in history won every single ruck of the day, a very strong performance heading into the finals. The Tigers backline performed well lead by Jacob, with Pepe, Les in support.
Once again the new forward line dominated with big Roundy flying high and kicking 7 goals. He was supported by Popey with 5, Col 3, Wilson 3, singles to Herc, BK, Jimbob, Don and PK.
The score line could of been worse for Nimbin however the Tigers were guilty of blazing away at different times in the day, with several players going close to busting their goal cherries including Deano and Chris. The nudie run is looming lads.
All in all a great day of footy played in great spirits, the Tigers enjoying a beer with the locals before departing for the always memorable bus trip home.
Thanks to Tigers support staff including Nankers, Jai and Earle who damaged the rider and all the supporters who made journey.
Next game is the Tiger's final home game of the year this Saturday vs Byron and should be a cracker.
Go the Tiger's!
