Shoe Drive for Cambodian Children
Do you have any old soccer shoes that you no longer need? Or any old soccer clothes that do not fit?
The Shearer Family (George) undertook a soccer shoe drive in 2017 to send donated soccer shoes to a Cambodian Soccer Club run by an organisation called BFT. We were able to collect 23 pairs of shoes that were delivered to the children below.
BFT stands for Build your better Future Today. They work with the villages in the town of the Siem Reap region to provide education for the children and a future for them and their family. For more information on the fantastic organisation of BFT, please look at their website www.buildyourfuturetoday.org. They are an amazing organisation undertaking life changing programs for the children and families in Cambodia.
In 2018 we aim to collect at least 50 pairs of shoes to take over with us in July and in addition to these shoes would also like to take some soccer clothing for them to train in. If you have any shoes / clothing in very good condition, we would be more than grateful if you could clean them and drop them to the home room of the Brunswick Zebras. Any donation – big or small would be appreciated.
