Tigers down in nail biter!
The Rococo’s Bar and Bistro Noosa Tigers have gone down to South Brisbane by 2 points at Yeronga last Saturday. After 13 straight wins the fired up Yeronga outfit thoroughly deserved their finest victory of the season even though a late tiger fight back looked set to ruin the party. In fact most Noosa Tigers observers present found their Noosa boys pretty flat for the first two and a half quarters before coming to life and bringing home a grandstand finish.
The Rococo Bar and Bistro Tigers still remain two games and a very slight percentage ahead of the second placed Maroochydore with three games remaining beginning with Burleigh at Weyba rd this Saturday. Whilst the lost against Yeronga was disappointing, most staunch footy pundits will tell you that after thirteen straight wins (and a month out from finals) a loss may not be too harmful and will freshen up the minds and bodies of the top team. Champion rover Caleb ‘Cubby’ Isles and gun on-baller Jai Fitzpatrick should return for the Burleigh clash and I'm sure Sam Faure and his coaching staff will be ready to sharpen things up from now on.
No one was better for the Tigers than top on-baller Nick Hill who gathered 34 touches and never gave up the entire day. Young ruckman Connor McDonald and partner in crime Jaise Coleman had enthralling battles with their Yeronga counterparts and were terrific Tiger performers. Tom Templeton again turned the game in its head late bursting from the middle and bagging home 3 goals. Aaron Laskey again was a solid contributor for the tigers with big forwards Westell and Jeffrey’s (four goals) also among the best.
