The Rococo Bistro and Bar Noosa Tigers have made it 12 wins in a row with a comprehensive nine goal demolition of finals aspirant Coorparoo in Brisbane last Saturday. Whilst the win keeps the Tigers two games clear at the top of the ladder, the victory was made even more special as club stalwart and 2010 senior premiership player Nathan Winter played his 200th game for the Noosa Tigers.
This is an outstanding achievement by the fitness fanatic with the heavily tattooed arms who originally hails from western Victoria. His first senior coach at Noosa (Brett Maloney) paid tribute to his former charge saying 'Wints has just been a testament to how looking after your body can take you a long way in footy. His fitness at this footy club has always been first class and his team first approach has always made him popular with his team mates. With a senior flag to his name also, this is a truly great achievement for one of the club greats.'
Winter himself picked up plenty of touches in the Tigers victory at the weekend however his game was overshadowed by the stunning performance of gun recruit Tommy Templeton who racked up 40 touches and booted 3 goals in a clear best on ground performance. Big Jaise Coleman in the ruck was again influential in the air and around the ground. Football Manager Mitch Woods, and the very in form duo of Laskey and Fitzpatrick, tore the blues apart. Up forward Robert Copeland bagged four goals whilst power forward Ryan Jeffery continued his terrific form also booting four.
Once again another purposeful and dominant victory for the Tigers who now face arch rival and second placed Maroochydore this Saturday at Weyba road in what is shaping up to be a mouth watering encounter. This Saturday is also Ladies day, Past Players day and a celebration of Noosa’s 1977 and 1997 premiership teams! Bring it on! Go tigers!
Cheers Pittsy
