OVENS and King Football Netball League action will kick off on the last day of March, but Easter weekend blockbusters will be the highlight of the opening round.
The first round is split over two weekends, with Glenrowan, Tarrawingee and Swanpool hosting games on March 31, with the remaining four matches set to take place on Good Friday and Easter Saturday.
Milawa will make the trip to Bonnie Doon, while reigning premier Moyhu will take on Greta in the two Good Friday matches.
North East Football Hub general manager Zac Guilfoyle said the league was looking into staging the game between the Hoppers and the Blues in Wangaratta.
"Greta and Moyhu should be a great match, so we are looking for a central location," Guilfoyle said.
"Wangaratta has a home game the next day, so we don't want to intrude too much, but there are a few options for us to explore.
"It will really help kick off the season for the fans in Wangaratta, and the match at Bonnie Doon will do the same thing for the Mansfield area."
Bright and King Valley will host matches on Easter Saturday, and both are set to be big drawcards, with the Mountain Men taking on Whorouly and the Roos set to face Benalla All Blacks.
