At 1950mm and 83 kegs, Kieran is a key position player, who can play forward or back. He can take a strong overhead mark, uses his body strength well and applies plenty of forward pressure through strong tackling. Oh, and did we say that he can kick goals.
Bagged 7 first half goals against Balmain early last season which had the swannies scouts on his case. Emery comes from North Shore in Sydney however he spent the bulk of the 2010 season playing with Sydney Swans Reserves as a top up player. He totalled an impressive 11 games for the Swans including a suitcase of 8 against Tuggeranong, and in their Preliminary Final loss to Eastlake, he kicked 2 goals. He kicked 3 against them earlier in the year, and obviously won’t mind round 13 in 2011 when we venture to Manuka Oval to play Eastlake.
Kieran is very much a multi-talented athlete having represented NSW in Australian Rules (Australian Country Carnival 2010 & 2009 Under 18 Championships), Cricket (NSW Under 17 side) and Basketball.
Last year he played for the NSW/ACT Rams in the NAB Under 18 Championships kicking 4 goals against the Northern Territory led by Roland Ah Chee, a Broadbeach supplementary player from the SUNs in 2010, but at that time a Northern Territory Thunder player. Against Queensland he kicked 3 goals and for the 5 games bagged a total of 10. NSW were the 2009 Division 2 Champions.
