Grand Final 2009

The 2009 Premiership could well go down in history of one of the Club's greatest ever wins. We came in as underdogs and defeated Kerang by over 9 goals, in comparison to them defeating us by 10 goals just two weeks prior in the 2nd semi final. The best team certainly won emphatically on the day and were deserved winners of the CMFL Premiership for 2009.

Expect the Unexpected at BFC

Just when you thought the fun times at the oval had finished for another year, the long weekend in October proved otherwise. We played host to the Wagga Wagga Chapter of the Harley Owners Group, who were joined by an army unit who had been forced to stay in Balranald unexpectedly overnight. The challenge was on - bikies v army - and a great time was had by all. A delicious roast tea was provided for all by the Club, some great music, good times and laughter all round. Well done once again to the Committee of the Balranald Football Club!

Cow Pad Lotto Day

Whilst we didn't end up with a cow on the day, we did end up with some Hawaiian dress up gear and a great time was had by all who attended. Brock Fitzgerald was the lucky winner of the $1000 cash, chosen in a most unique way.....

The Finals Series 2009

Balranald played in three finals series games before the Grand Final in 2009. We met Tyntynder in the Qualifying Final at Cohuna, a great comeback to come from 5 goals down at three quarter time to win. This took us to the 2nd Semi against Kerang (played on our home ground) on 5.9.09. Unfortunately we were defeated by over 10 goals on that sad day. Our next challenge was the Prelim Final at Nyah, where we faced Tooleybuc Manangatang and won the game to go to the Grand Final. And the rest, as they say, is history..............

CMFL Vote Count & Trophy Presentation

We travelled to Nyah on Monday 14th September for the annual Central Murray Football League Vote Count. A great night was had by all and we came away as big time winners!

2009 Roo Ball

Our annual Roo Ball was held on 4th July in conjunction with the Premiership Reunion Weekend. A great crowd attended and everyone had a ball.

Common Man Calendar Launch Party

Saturday 1st August saw the launch of the 2009/2010 "Common Man" Calendar, featuring the men of Balranald Football Club. It was a fantastic night with a huge crowd, many of whom still have not finished laughing. All the models were fantastic and very good sports about taking part. Check them out!
