History
In late 2017 enquiries & expressions of interest begun to take place under new club president Dave Stirling with the assistance of Secritary Chantelle Dundas & volunteer Sarah Stevenson. With support from league, an information night was held with overwelming success and a pre-season session was put into place.
Dave Stirling stepped into the role of coach, and the women rolled into training. Quickly, it was evident there was high positivity & excitement from the newly formed group. Couragiously the group took on their first pratice match quickly against Upway Tecoma only after a couple of training sessions played at home in Thornton. The girls were defeated, however the spirits were high.
The team unvailed their season game day jumpers of the Blue and White, with a touch of pink trim. Captains were announced:
Tash Hay (C) due to her wonderful attitude, energy & previous tallanted football playing experiance.
Sarah Stevenson (VC) due to her positive attitude & passion for believing in creating this football team.
After Round Two:
Emily Kerr (VC) was announced vice captain for her strong leadership skills within the playing group.
Sarah Stevenson was diagnosed with cancer and didnt continue to play, however her team rallied behind her along with the Football Club as she continued on the sidelines rally behind the team.
