Zillmere Eagles continued thier winning streak comprehensively beating Kedron 12.5.77 to 1.2.8. In was a stunning display, from the team who hasnt put 5 wins together since 2007,looks to be hitting form at just the right time.
The Eagles midfiled was seamless with a constant supply to the forward line. Star rover and QLD Sunfire rep player , Yolanda Jones has hit peak form as finals loom, with a best on ground performance. Taylor Harris, Rachael Anstey and Mikayla Anderson shared the ruck duties and were virtually unbeatable all day.
Forward Pocket, Tiff Harman, has worked hard to be a regular starter in the side. Kicking the first goal of the day and setting up 2 more with lace out passes see's Tiff cement her selection and become ever more dangerours around goal. Accuracy around goal has been improving and the Eagles had a spread of 6 goal kickers. Monica Allen was solid again at full forward kicking 4.2 and now leads the league goal kicking with 17 for the season. Taylor Harris chipped in with 4 goals aswell as she rested up forward from ruck duties. Ashley Hales, Roxanne Brock and Jillo Forman all added to the win with one goal a piece as well.
The backilne were , as always, solid as a rock with Kedron only have 3 scoring chances in the match. Sammy Engel (full back) has taken charge this season and with talent like Kristie Hudson, Roxanne Brock, and Bree Weaver at her disposal the back six are the backbone of the team and proving to be potent when turning defence into attack.
The Eagles now look to this weekend as they play first placed Yeronga in a top of the table clash. This will be a great opportunity for the girls to test themselves against the best. It's set to be a great game.
