Official Match Report

The ref in this game was very poor. The ref, although very lovely could not control the game. Poor decisions were made and frustration levels were high. Our (GCU) keeper was red carded (which yes, she shouldn't have sworn, however was not swearing at ref but in frustration and in general. Instead of this being a learning moment as we are meant to be doing with younger players the red card was brought out. There were many girls in both teams using the F word on field and if you're going to penalise one, penalise them all. We ended up with a player in hospital and I feel that if we didn't speak up, the player from the other team responsible would not have received a yellow card at all. Young referees should not be taking charge of an age group that they are unable to manage without a mentor or proper teachings. This is not the first game this season that this has occurred and I fear it will be far from the last.
