In the 43rd minute the Whittlesea manager alerted me to the Fitzroy team having more than the 6 players on the bench. At half time Whittlesea requested to check the Fitzroy team sheet for the players numbers and pointed out that numbers 8,56,41,11 and 52 were not on the team sheet but had taken part during the game. Before the 2nd half commenced I addressed this with the Fitzroy Assistant coach Malik. The second half resumed with 10 players from Fitzroy. in the 47th minute, Fitzroy wanted to bring on the 11th player #41. I refused to allow them as they were not on the team sheet and they left the pitch. In the 48th minute the Fitzroy assistant coach was yelling at me to come over to clarify this which I declined and conformed with the team captain that #41 was not on the team sheet to which the captain agreed. The assistant coach kicked a spare ball onto the pitch and was behaving in an aggressive manner. I issued him a red card in the 49th minute. He then decided to call his team off the pitch and told the captain to tell me that they will forfeit the game. The game was stopped in the 49th minute with no further play taking part.
