Mitiamo VS Marong
Marong got off to a good start with Chris Morgan winning in the ruck and were first to score with Daniel Young marking well up forward and kicking Marong’s first goal. Up the other end, the big Spoon was marking everything but his kicking was letting him down hitting the post twice.
Quarter time: Mitiamo 2.4 Marong 1.5
The wind was playing havoc with the game and it has become a real struggle to score goals for both teams.
Half Time: Mitiamo 3.5 Marong 4.7
Marong had the better of the third quarter kicking 4 goals to Mitiamo’s 3 against the wind. Rogers, Gregg and Turcarelli were damaging for Marong while Perri, Reeves and Meroli were in everything for Mitiamo.
Three Quarter time: Mitiamo 6.7 Marong 8.10
Marong got out to a 3 goal lead half way through the last quarter, with goals to Gregg and Bennett, then 2 goals to Matt Perri for Mitiamo made the difference only 5 points. But then a goal to Marong sealed the game. Trevor Borg did a great job at full back on the Spoon, holding him to 1 goal while Spike, Meroli and Skidder held Mitiamo’s backline together.
