Official Match Report
The match overall was played in an extremely unsportsmen like manner throughout the game from both teams. 9 yellow cards were given out and the players were not able to calm down, with many of these yellow cards given out for dissent. The Whittlesea defence, including the captain, were particularly difficult to control, as these players were not able to regulate their emotions towards myself, or other players. I also had issues with parents screaming at myself, the marshals, and my linesmen. I gave a yellow card to the technical area of Whittlesea at around the 75th minute for constant dissent. I unfortuantly did not get his name, although I believe it was the assistant coach, as I know it was not the head coach, and it was not the team manager who came to sign at the end of the game. Overall I was disappointed in the the overall behaviour of the players from that game, and I believe I did all I could to manage them. Had either of my linemen reffed that game (they were much less experienced than me), the game very well would have ended in a full on brawl, and it would have completely discouraged either of them to continue with their reffing career.
