How to start a team

The optimum number per team is 7-8 players.  Once you have up to 5 players you can consider formalising a team.

STEP 1  Meet with player parents and organise a coach and a team manager.

STEP 2  Once you have a team manager that person will be responsible for completing a Lakers team registration form for either Winter or Summer competition.  This includes collection all registration fees and depositing the funds into the Patterson Lakes basketball bank account.

STEP 3  Once you have a nominated coach the team can then organise training times.

STEP 4  Contact our uniform mangager and order new uniforms.  Uniforms are $70 per player.

STEP 5  Important note:  Coach and Team Manager must have a working with children registration prior to commencing their respective roles.

FEE STRUCTURE  Laker club fees; $50 per player, which is only paid once per year as part of the Winter registration.

Team registration; this is the fee that the chosen assosication charges for any team playing in their competition.  You simply divide the amount of players in your team by the registration fee amount (see estimate of various association fees below, this is an estimate as fees can change without notice on a season by season basis)

Chelsea District Basketball Association: $160 per team

Frankston District Basketball Association $80 per team

Dandenong Basketball Association $70 per team

Fee registration example;  For a team with 7 players in Chelsea competition:

8 x Lakers team fee of $50     $400

1 x Team Registration fee        $160 (collect $20 per player)

                              TOTAL; $560

Add 8 x $70 per player for uniform if new team.
