“The Nyora Football Netball Club is committed to providing a fun, safe, family friendly environment for all members of our community. We will offer the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of Australian Rules Football and Netball through positive promotion of team sports, fair play and sportsmanship as well as encouraging family and community involvement."
During the 1880’s the small South Gippsland railway community of Nyora had enough people interested in the game of Australian Rules Football to establish their own team. As we stand today, the Nyora Football Club is one of the oldest football clubs in Victoria.
In 1969 the Nyora Netball Club was formed, in 2001 it joined forces with the Nyora Football Club to become one club, working and bringing together like minded and passionate people.
Since its inception in the 1880’s the Nyora Football Netball Club has continually grown in size and stature. Our club has around 200 players each game day, participating in the Ellinbank & District Football League & Netball Association. Home games attract up to 10,000 supporters and spectators each season, with many players and spectators travelling to venues from Melbourne’s South Eastern Suburbs, the Mornington Peninsula and many areas of Gippsland.
For the 2017 season the Nyora Football Netball Club will field 4 football and 6 netball teams, made up of two senior and two junior football sides and three senior and three junior netball sides.
We have a strong and dedicated committee who, with many volunteers, work tirelessly and with great enthusiasm to ensure the Nyora Football Netball Club can fulfil its mission.
