The Lismore Swans have been chomping at the bit after their round 1 victory over the Robina Kangaroos and are ready for their contest against the Ballina Bombers this Saturday.
According to Senior coach Joe Mitchell, this match stands as a real test for the young swans side against an older and more experinced opposition. "The Swans have been training hard and are certainly up for the contest. We have a few players back this week so hope to give a good contest".
This Saturday's showdown will be the first for the season at the Swan's home ground and the club will be unveiling a new canteen inititiative, with healtier food and drink choices available from 12:30pm in the new shade structure. Committee members Hannah Roberston and Emily Williams are looking forward to serving fresh fruit, chicken satay skewers, sweet potatoe and chickpea patties, tea and coffee and all the usual favorites so come down and enjoy lunch while watching the boys hard at work on the paddock.
Alcohol will not be served this Saturday and the Lismore Swans committee ask that patrons please respect the Council by-laws prohibiting the consumption of alcohol at Mortimer Oval.
