Congratulations to Buln Buln midfielder Brendan Wall and Longwarry forward Trent Kearney.
Tonight Brendan was awarded the Ian Cooper medal for best and fairest in the 2019 EDFL U/16 competition and Trent was awarded the Bill Cumming medal for the EDFL best and fairest at U/18 level. Both were presented with their medals at the league vote count by league executive Stephen Pratt at the GRV Warragul racetrack.
In the U/16s Brendan accumulated 42 votes and remarkably polled in 15 games with 12 BOG’s.
At the end of round seven he had polled 16 votes and trailed Poowong’s Alex Henshall by one vote but thereafter polled votes in every match. Alex finished runner up with 29 votes.

In the U/18s Trent Kearney tallied 33 votes. He polled in 12 games which included nine BOGs. Nyora’s Ben Lineham and Nilma Darnum midfielder Blake Cann were equal runners up with 20 votes.

The leading goal kickers in the U16s (Paisarn White) & in the U18s (Billy Bundle) were also presented with trophies. Billy could not be present and his trophy was picked up by his Coach Sen Kelly. Interleague coaches at U16 level (Chris Morse) & at U18 level (Mort Diston) were also acknowledged. Chris spoke about his enthusiasm for Interleague. Mort could not be present but beforehand offered his thanks to all the players for their efforts and signalled out Poowong’s Jai Newcombe who won the U18 Gumbuya Park Gippsland Carnival player of the competition award.
The league sourced pewter tankards for their time, effort and mentoring.Buln Buln U16s Paisarn White was also presented with his leading goal kicking trophy & in the U18s Billy Bundle who topped the goal kicking table could be not present and his trophy was picked up by his U18 coach Sean Kelly.
Interleague coaches at U16 level (Chris Morse) & at U18 level (Mort Diston) were also acknowledged. Mort could not make it and gave his apologies. Both received pewter tankards from the league for their time, effort and mentoring of their respective teams this season
